Career Talk at the University of the Philippines, Los Baños: Institute of Computer Science

I started my talk with the Philippines’ potential, based on our rich history and English skills, which can be our edge on the world stage. However, we have been surpassed by our neighboring Asian countries.

and even how our other South East Asian neighbors are outperforming us.

Then continued with my career history, and what I’m doing now like exploring new technologies, writing new songs, and even writing a book.

I also shared some wisdom from Ecclesiastes:

Each of them should eat and drink.

People should be satisfied with all their hard work.

That is God’s gift to them.

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬ ‭(NIRV‬‬)

In general, my talk revolved around advocating for forging your own path and finding the work you love.

Find something where you’re not working for a reward,
But where your work is rewarding

And here are some students who loved my singing (just kidding, I didn’t sing). Would love to meet them again.

And of course, thank you to the all the people behind the ICS Career Talks who made this happen.

And “hello” to the next generation of Ysers. Special mention to JC and Mill who demoed some great projects to us.

Thank you ICS! Especially to Sir Regi and Dr. Maan! Til we meet again po.
