Day 4 of 30 – The Game

Life is a game

A “permadeath” kind of game where we only have one life (unless you’re a cat), no do-overs!

We earn experience (XP) – e.g. 5 years of experience in your job ๐Ÿ˜œ

We take care of our health (HP) – e.g. eating, exercising, sleeping

We do several Quests each day – e.g. doing chores, completing our work

And we level up our Skills and Stats

But we all play different games and so we all have different definitions of what it is to “win the game”

Winning the game (our life goals) requires managing these 4 resources

  1. Money
  2. Time
  3. People (family, friends, enemies, and NPCs)
  4. Well-being (physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional)

And so the app’s goal is to help you manage these resources for you to achieve your life goals starting with the modules for Money (Budget), Time (Calendar), and People (Contacts)

But since we have a very-limited time for this challenge, my main focus would be in the Calendar as it is also in need of some reinvention

Here’s a sneak peek: what do you think if the onboarding shows you something like this? Is it too much? ๐Ÿ˜…

P.S. thanks to all the comments and reactions (and the silent readers), appreciate you all

A very OC person here, I used an organizer to help me manage my life well. Like all aspects are their in that app, I actually use Evernote to manage my day to day life and events either work or personal related matters I tend to have apps and notes pads to:
    1. Jots my plans and dreams, bucket list, goals in life and even skills I want to achieve
    2. Day to day journaling
    3. Keeper of my life secrets like passwords, accesses and password other personal things
    4. Organize calendar for personal, work, church and social events, events, I even have a birthday bank
    5. Health: like keep calling cards of doctors, prescriptions, and even schedules of visits and photos of results and even photo of my vaccination just in case I have it in my phone (for faster tracking that I donโ€™t need to bring docus and results to check)
    6. Money Matters: like savings, list of payments and dues
    7. Personal Matters: My devotions, personal goals, my files etc. Personal documents are intact in the app like SSS, Phil health, and even my diploma are kept on that app. My hobbies like songs and poems I wrote, recipes I learned and other creativity side hacks that I want to save and keep

Maybe you can integrate everything in the app you wish to establish to cater all needs for personal and all aspects of life. The LIFE app that got it all ๐Ÿ˜Š
Maybe you want to check capabilities of the following apps that may be helpful on the project your working at:
Evernote: for notes and organizing files, I love this app that I started since 2016โ€”back then itโ€™s free but no longer free starting just last year and since all of my notes and files are there I decided to purchase (where I donโ€™t usually purchase any online apps, actually that is my first ever purchase I really thought about) since I canโ€™t let go and I love the features of Evernote already
Journey: for calendar and journaling day to day (what I love here is I can put photos and tell my story on the photo)
Daily Bread: to journal and put your activities and even analyse and consolidate emotions you have, since you can put emoticons. My friend used this since she doesnโ€™t want to post in her social media, whenever she has anxiety and happy she logs it here with photos and emotions
Trello: for tracker of achievements from your checklist

I hope this helps, and rooting for whatever youโ€™ll wish to accomplish in this project.

Wow! Thank you for this comprehensive feedback.

Yes, this is the vision. I was even tempted to call it LifeOS at one point (but a lot has been using it already, so pass).
Imagine the challenge of breaking down this vision into its bare essentials.
I have to say “no” to a lot of features (at least for now).

Like you, I have also used a lot of notes/journaling apps over the years from Apple Notes, Evernote, Bear, Ulysses, Notion, to now Craft.
So in a way, I kind of know that building a notes app is a huge undertaking. Well, even the Calendar app is huge (but I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve, hehe).

I’ll look into the other apps you’ve suggested, appreciate the insights.
